The season titled Music for Keys begins literally with magic. In the opening concert, the audience will discover the story of a powerful magician’s clever and troublesome assistant. The lazy but cunning apprentice tries to get out of doing the task assigned to him by bringing brooms to life, so they can do the work instead. Naturally, nothing goes as planned by the sorcerer’s apprentice… Paul Dukas’ fantastic piece brims with cartoon-like sound effects and musical solutions that express mood, movement, and gestures. It’s no wonder that this work inspired the creators of Disney. This grand orchestral piece will be performed in a two-piano version by the well-established duo of pianists, Marcell Szabó and Tamás Pregun. The recipe for the magic, or the secrets and details hidden within the music, will be explained by Dániel Mona.
