Liszt Academy’s event for singing talents attracted considerable attention at this year's session of the World Federation of International Music Competitions’ (WFIMC) General Assembly.

A dedicated and important colleague, she was the secretary of Liszt Academy’s Éva Marton International Singing Competition and Bartók World Competition.

South African, New-Zealander, U.S. and Korean competitors also make it to the preliminary of the Marton competition along with Russians, Ukrainians, Hungarians.

Entries came from 38 countries around the world, from North and South America to the Far East and New Zealand.

Applications for the contest can be submitted by sending in video recordings until 25 April.

Sonja Šarić, first prize winner and audience's choice award winner of the 4th Éva Marton International Singing Competition, says that great friendships have been formed between the performers and she is certain that this victory is a big step in her career.

The atmosphere was excellent at this year’s Éva Marton International Singing Competition, with performers competing not against each other, but for the chance to perform, says the Liszt Academy Professor Emerita after the competition named for her.
