Hyun Kim studied at Yonsei University in Seoul. Since autumn 2009 he has been studying as a graduate student of Professor Andreas Reibenspies at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen.
Kim Hyun has won many awards and performed as a soloist in the modern Korean opera Sontag Hotel by Zo Yong Lee at the National Theatre in Seoul and as a soloist in Dona Nobis Pacem by R.V. Williams. He portrayed Antonio in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Kunsthalle in Incheon and Yonsei University. Hyun Kim was a bass soloist in Händel's Messiah, Haydn's The Creation, Bach's Johannes-Passion and Weihnachtsoratorium, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Stravinsky's Les Noces and Liederallererfolgreich.
