Date of birth: 26 June, 1989
Yang Luo was accepted by the Voice Department Nanjing University of Arts as an undergraduate student (in the specially talented student category) and graduated in 2012 with the top score among all the voice students of the department. He won both a Huang You kui Scholarship and Excellent Student Scholarship.
He has taken part in about 100 concerts so far, participated in numerous masterclasses including by Italian tenor Delfo Menicucci, German tenor Uwe Heilmann, English soprano Janice Kains, Norwegian soprano Elizabeth Norberg-Shulz and Chinese soprano Ying Huang. He also performed as Monostatos, and understudied Tamino in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart for the 2009 Seoul International Opera Programme.
He is winner of several competitions such as the 3rd National University Opera and Art Song Competition in 2012, the 6th Yangzi River Delta Voice Competition in 2011 and the 5th National University Opera and Art Song Competition in the Art Song Category in 2011.
