The World Federation of Music Competitions continues to welcomes new members. Here we introduce the newest, each with its own special qualities and unique character - BBC Music, November 2019

Hungarian pride and passion combined in 2014 to create the Éva Marton International Singing competition. The dramatic soprano's brainchild grew from her desire to encourage independence and self-confidence among young singers.

„When I was a Liszt Academy student, I swore that if I ever had my own students, I would teach them from the very first minute independence and self-confidence. A teacher usually wants to fashion from the student a lesser artist than they are. This is a mistake! We must give them wings so they can cope in life as swiftly as possible."
