In this two-part concert, young musicians connected to the Folk Music Department – both former and current students – will take the stage. While the two bands have different artistic goals, they share one commonality: deep stylistic knowledge and a passionate love for folk music. This evening, the repertoires of both ensembles will complement each other, providing an excellent concert experience. Bére Band was formed in the spring of 2022 by young students of the Academy. The band’s main aim is to interpret bourdon music at a high level. They perform a repertoire that is an organic part of traditional Hungarian folk music in chamber music formations. In addition to southern Hungarian melodies, they also play dance music from Somogy and Transylvania. The Tindia Group was formed a few years earlier, in 2015, as a folk-dance ensemble. However, they are not only active in the world of folk dances: in addition to their concerts, they introduce the world of folk music to the youngest through children’s programs. The band is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, making this concert also a musical summary of the recent period.
