Application is open

The Éva Marton International Singing Competition invites applications from young opera singers worldwide and has become well-known among emerging talents. Every two years, artists from across the globe gather in Budapest to show their artistry on stage. The competition is hosted by the Liszt Academy, and the chair of the jury is Éva Marton, the legend of Hungarian opera, who personally follows the young singers’ artistic journey.

Throughout the competition, participants perform in several rounds before an international jury made up of leading figures from the global opera world. The final takes place in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy, while the gala concert is held at the Hungarian State Opera.

The Éva Marton International Singing Competition is therefore more than a contest—it is an inspiring meeting point, a week when Budapest becomes a vibrant center for the rising talents of the opera world.
