The Éva Marton International Singing Competition has become well-known among young opera singers. Every two years, talented artists from all over the world gather in Budapest to show themselves on stage. The competition is hosted by the Liszt Academy, and the chair of the jury is Éva Marton, the legend of Hungarian opera, who personally follows the young singers’ artistic journey.

Throughout the competition, participants perform in several rounds before an international jury composed of leading figures from the global opera world. The final takes place in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy, while the gala concert is held at the Hungarian State Opera. The Éva Marton International Singing Competition is therefore more than a contest—it is an inspiring meeting point, a week during which Budapest becomes a vibrant center for the rising talents of the opera world.
