Ms Shapovalova graduated from the Vocal Faculty of the Rostov State Conservatory has been a soloist at the Rostov State Music Theatre right from the beginning of her career. She is also awardee of numerous prestigious competition prizes: in 2015, she received a special prize for the best performance of a romance by Tchaikovsky at the 10th International Elena Obraztsova Competition for Young Singers in Saint Petersburg. She made her debut in the Rostov Opera as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin in 2014. The next year, she starred as Mimi in La bohème, but she can also boast the title role of Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco, Lisa in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades, and she also featured as Yaroslavna in Borodin’s Prince Igor.
