Born in China, Xiaofang Zhao soprano was invited at the age of 18 to do a bachelor's degree at Beijing University with Prof. Yan Xiao. Private studies and master classes led her to Lurging Marzola, Christiane Oelze, Giovanna Canitti, Yalin Zhang and Miao Hao.

She has already won many competitions, e.g. second prize in the Melbourne International Music Competition, quality prize in the Opera Vocal Performance of the National Belcanto Art College, best soprano prize in the Paolo Coni International Opera Vocal Competition, etc.

Since October 2020 she has been studying at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Professor Manuela Uhl in the Master of Music Practice.

During this time, Xiaofang sang the role of the First boy, Papagena, the first lady from “Die Zauberflöte”. In the 2021/2022 season she sings the role of Adele in “Die Fledermaus” in Theater für Niedersachsen and the role of Flora in “The Turn of the Screw” in Theater Lübeck. Furthermore she learned the part of roles e.g. Pamina from “Die Zauberflöte”, Ännchen from “Der Freischütz”, Sophie from “Der Rosenkavalier”, Gilda from “Rigoletto” etc. She also performed other performances in Kiel, Völkern near Hanover, Eutin Castle, Plön, Bad Schwartau and Malente. As a sought-after soloist, she also appeared as a lieder and oratorio singer. Her repertoire includes Mozart’s An die Freude, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Richard Strauss’s Sechs Lieder (op. 68), Haydn’s Die Schöpfung.
