Korean Tenor Jaewon Jung graduated from Seoul National University in 2016, and in 2018 studied for a Master’s degree at Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts with Snezana Stamenković, where he performed in Robert, the poet in Philippe Boesmans’s opera Reigen at Mannheim National Theatre, and he was selected for a Richard Wagner Scholarship in 2019.
He also won Third Prize at the 6th International Toscanini Competition 2021 and Second Prize and Special Prize at the 2019 “Città di Alcamo” International Singing Contest in Italy.
In concert, he sang in “Jewels of the Opera” with the Dresden Residence Orchestra in Dresden in 2018 and he performed in the vocal ensemble of the opera “La gazzetta” at Oper Frankfurt in 2020.
In July 2021, he made his debut as Don José in Carmen at the Junge Oper Schloss Weikersheim in Germany and he will debut in the title role in Les contes d’Hoffmann in Maastricht, Netherlands in March 2022.
