The bass singer was born in 1987 in South Korea, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Myong-ji University, then with a master’s from the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg (under KS.Prof. Jan Hammar). After performing in several concerts as well as at the Yangpyeong Opera and the Gwang-Ju Opera in his home country, in the 2020/21 season he appeared on stage of the Opernstudio am Theater Lübeck in several roles. He took part in masterclasses by Kwangchul Youn at JCC Art Center in 2018, by Sae Kyung Rim in 2017, and won 1st prize at the Glovil Music Competition in 2016 as well as 2nd prize at the Korea International Music Competition in 2017. His repertoire includes, among others, Geronimo from Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa, Sarastro from Die Zauberflöte, Osmin from Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Alfonso from Cosi fan tutte by Mozart, Marchese d’Obigny from Traviata and Sparafucile from Rigoletto by Verdi, as well as Don Basilio from Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini.
