Bardon, Antal
No. 8
Voice type: Tenor/Countertenor
Country: Hungary
Date of birth: 15 April, 1985
The Transylvanian-born singer graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy of Cluj-Napoca in 2010 under the guidance of the Romanian tenor Marius Budoiu. Since then he has been a member of the ensembles of both the Romanian National Opera and the Hungarian Opera of Cluj-Napoca. In April 2008, he made his operatic debut in the role of Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Being interested in the bel canto style Mr Bardon auditioned in Pesaro in 2010 for the Accademia Rossiniana and was admitted. Two year later, one of his dreams - to meet and study with the legendary Rossinian tenor Rockwell Blake - came true. His studies in Italy were followed by several stage invitations: in addition to Pesaro, he was asked to sing Tito Vespasiano in La clemenza di Tito at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, while in Torino he sang Tamino’s part in Die Zauberflöte.
