She began studying opera singing in 2005 at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea. In 2010, she continued her studies at Conservatorio di Musica G.Verdi, Milan, Italy. After receiving a Performer’s Diploma, Soo Yeon Lim moved to Germany continuing her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler under the guidance of professor Anna Korondi. She was honored with the second place and the audience award at the International Lions Singing Competition of the Immling Festival in Germany, was awarded first prize at the Competition of Rassegna Concertisitica and was a quarterfinalist at the international voice competition Renata Tebaldi in the baroque section.
