Ms Chen received her MA at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. During her higher education studies, she spent nine months at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome on a scholarship, where she could attend the classes of such wonderful artists as for example, Marilyn Horne. She debuted as an opera singer in 2010 in the role of Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Since then, she has concentrated mainly on parts in Puccini’s operas, such as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Liu in Turandot, Musetta in La bohème, but she collected quite a bit of acclaim also as Freia in Rhinegold or as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. This season she is going to take to the stage as the Countess in the Le Nozze di Figaro in the Chinese National Opera. Her most important accomplishment was the Young Talent Prize of the world-renowned 50th International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.
