Soprano Natalie Weinberg currently lives in Vienna, Austria, where she is a frequent soloist in opera and concert performances. In January 2021, she completed her M.A. in Lied and Oratorio at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) with Professors Claudia Visca and Florian Boesch. She graduated with her Master of Music degree from Indiana University in 2016 under the tutelage of Patricia Stiles. She also earned her Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University with a minor in Italian. In Vienna, Weinberg has sung the role of Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at the Neue Studiobühne der MDW. Weinberg also performed with renowned Austrian cabaretist, Michael Niavarani, in Mendelssohn’s Ein Sommernachtstraum at the Globe Vienna. She is a regular soloist with the Wiener Residenzorchester and Classic Art Vienna, performing in celebrated locations, such as Schlosstheater Schönbrunn, Palais Liechtenstein, and Palais Auersperg. She recently performed as the soprano soloist with Ensemble Ultreia in Vienna, singing works by the little-known Viennese composer Vally Weigl.

Previous roles with IU Opera Theater include Adele in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Elvira in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri and Friend of Thi Mao in the world premiere of P. Q. Phan’s The Tale of Lady Thị Kính. Weinberg also sang the role of Mrs. Keeney in the world premiere of Ezra Donner’s Ile with New Voices Opera. Along with her operatic and concert repertoire, Weinberg was a finalist in the Bel Canto Foundation competition in Chicago, IL, and a semi-finalist in the International Otto Edelmann Singing Competition in Vienna, the International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria in Lower Austria, as well as the International Singing Contest Immling in Bad Endorf, Germany.
