Elsa Roux Chamoux is a French mezzo-soprano. She was a member of the Opéra national du Rhin’s Opera Studio. She has studied in the Opera Course and obtained her Master in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

She has already won awards and been a finalist in several national and international competitions: 3rd Prize Mezzo-Soprano category at the International Vocal Competition «José Carreras Grand Prix» in Moscow (Russia), Jury Special Prize, OFQJ Prize, Social Network Prize in Opera category at Concours International de Chant de Marmande (France), Finalist in French Melodies category at Concours International de Chant de Marmande, Mady Mesplé Prize at the International Competition of Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini in Vendôme (France), Susan Longfield Award at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (UK), Audience Prize at the Grand Competition Emma Calvé in Meyrueis (France)

She has appeared in various opera productions, including the roles of Rosina, Angelina, Hansel, Dido, Celia, Ruggiero, Romeo, Zerlina, Cherubino.

Elsa has participated to several masterclasses with Adrianne Pieczonka, Malcolm Walker, Stéphane Degout, Christian Immler, Janet Perry, Edith Wiens, Stéphanie d’Oustrac, Elaine Kidd, Susan Bullock, Matthieu Pordoy, and David Gowland.

But she does not have only one string to her bow: she also obtained her bachelor's degree in Management in Paris (in e-learning), and practised Rink-Hockey to a high level for more than 14 years in the men’s championship. She played for several years in the French women’s team, with which she was crowned World Champion in 2012 in Brazil, and Vice-World Champion in 2014 in France. She nevertheless decided to retire in December 2015 to devote herself entirely to opera.

For the end of the 2021/2022 season, she will perform the role of L’écureil, La chatte and La bergère in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges and Dinah in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti with the Opéra National du Rhin.
