Eddie Mofokeng was born on 31 Dec. 1991 in a small town called Kroonstad in South Africa. During 2019 Eddie worked with internationally acclaimed director William Kentridge in a modern production called ‘The head & the load’, Eddie also worked with Maestro Philippe Herreweghe and Maestro Kaspars Putniņš at the Collegium Vocale Gent. In the 2019 season Eddie performed in the Trouble in Tahiti & A Quiet Place by Bernstein in Aachen theatre, and later on he also ang Aeneas in a production of Dido and Aeneas there. In 2019 Eddie was among the semi-finalists of Competizione dell’Opera held in Sochi. He also performed a role of Enrico in Haydn opera called “L’isola disabitata” at Rheinsberg Schloss during the Easter festival, and the production was conducted by Maestro Wolfgang Katschner. Due to postponed performances with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic Eddie was supposed to have performed Dancaïre (Carmen) in Oper Graz (now postponed for summer 2022) in summer and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and St Matthew Passion with Ribattuta Musica during an Easter tour. In the course of his studies Eddie also worked with directors like Thilo Reinhardt, Peter Konwitschny, Gabriele Rech and Michael Schultz, Eddie has also attended master classes and studied with  internationally acclaimed singers such as Lucio Gallo and Aris Argiris.
