Belgian mezzo-soprano Linsey Coppens is a member of the Opera Studio at Staatsoper Stuttgart 2020–2022. In 2021/2022 she will perform the role of Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Siegrune in Die Walküre, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Linetta in Prokofiev’s Die Liebe zu drei Orangen and Ozias in a staged version of Vivaldi’s Juditha Triumphans

In summer 2021, Ms. Coppens sang the role of Violet/Mary in Olga Neuwirth’s Bählamms Fest at the Ruhrtriennale festival. 

Her recently performed roles include Die Katze, Das Eichhörnchen and Ein Schäfer in a German translation of L’enfant et les sortilèges, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Jo in Little Women, Enrichetta in I puritani, Bianca in Giove in Argo and The Grand Dutchess of Monteblanco in the opera A Dinner Engagement. On the concert stage Ms. Coppens has performed in Bach’s Magnificat and Weihnachtsoratorium, Duruflé’s Requiem, Mahler’s Um Mitternacht, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Beethoven’s Chorfantasie, Charpentier’s Te Deum and Mendelssohn’s Magnificat

She has won prizes at renowned competitions such as 1st prize at the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions Florida District, Honorable mention at the St. Petersburg Opera Guild Competition and 3rd prize at the Concours des nouveaux talents de l’art lyrique. Recently she was a semi-finalist at the 2021 edition of Operalia. In June 2022, she will compete in the finale rounds of the The 55th Opera | Oratorio edition of the “International Vocal Competition”. This will take place from 24 June to 2 July in ʼs-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven.   

She received her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and her Master’s degree at the Frost School of Music (University of Miami). In 2020 she graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam.
