Whilst studying at the Manhattan School of Music, Wu Hongni won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2018. She spent two seasons with the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) in the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. She recently debuted at Opéra National de Montpellier, at San Francisco Opera, at Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, among others. Highlights of the 2023/24 season include her appearance as Rosina in Il barbiere di siviglia at both the Macao International Music Festival and with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as well as in different productions at Opera Royal de Wallonie-Liège and at the Covent Garden. She has worked with Paavo Järvi and the Philharmonia Orchestra, as well as with Tan Dun and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. She made her debut with the ochestra and choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia last season in Tan Dun’s Buddha Passion.
