Pete Thanapat graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and with a master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He won 2nd prize at the 26th International Ferruccio Tagliavini Singing Competition and the Perry Nelson Prize at the 11th International Hilde Zadek Voice Competition in 2019. From 2022 to 2024, he was a member of the Lyon Opera Studio, performing as Biterolf in Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Le grand-prêtre in Hérodiade, Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro, the One-Armed Man in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Quinault in Adriana Lecouvreur, Larkens in La fanciulla del west, and Don Pedro in Béatrice et Bénédict, among others. He participated in the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival in 2022, appearing on stage as well. This summer he performed Marco in Gianni Schicchi at the Bregenz Festival.
