Mihai Damian currently studies with Cristian Hodrea and Iulia Suciu. He has participated in masterclasses by Ramón Vargas, Ruxandra Donose among others. He has received prizes at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino and Verum Solitus Vocal Competition, First Prize at the Mozart International Music Competition in Cluj-Napoca and the Grand Prize and the Cluj-Napoca Hungarian Opera Award at the Alexandru Fărcaș Voice Competition. Between 2019 and 2024, he performed with the Transylvania State Philharmonic, before becoming a member of the soloist ensemble at the Romanian National Opera (Cluj-Napoca). In recent years, he has performed at the Bucharest National Opera, the Romanian National Opera (Timișoara), as well as with philharmonic ochestras of the country. In 2023, he was invited to the George Enescu Festival and the Ópera de Bellas Artes (Mexico City) with Ramón Vargas and Karen Gardeazebal.
