RULES OF THE COMPETITION 2022
The application was open from January to April 25, 2022, with the submission of two uncut video recordings matching the following criteria: one Baroque aria (from an opera, oratorio, cantata) and one opera aria from a different period. Works presented on this recording may be included in the programme of the live competition.
A completed application form had to include full competition repertoire. Repertoire for the orchestral final has to be chosen from this list of operas.
APPLICATION FEE
The application fee is EUR 200
Early bird fee: 100 EUR (for those who originally applied before 25 March 2022)
The fee shall be paid only by candidates approved to the preliminary round latest by 15th of June.

Qualified competitors pay their own travel and accommodation costs during the Preliminaries and Semi-Finals. Organizers will cover the accommodation for contestants approved to the Final and stay at a hotel recommended by the Secretariat for the days of the Final and the Gala concert.
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
All pieces are to be memorised, in the original key and original language, and in full version (including recitativo, cabaletta, stretta if relevant).
Competitors may bring their own piano accompanist, but the organisers will provide a piano accompanist for everyone in the competition.
The order of appearance on stage is decided by drawing lots on 4 September 2022, in the presence of all the competitors, the youngest candidate will draw the number of the first performer to appear in front of the Jury. The first contestant will be followed by the others in alphabetical order to the end of the alphabet and restart from the beginning until everybody has perfomed. This order is valid during the whole competition.
If in the Preliminaries a contestant appears late for reason not his/her fault, the Jury can give permission that he/she performs at the end of the round. If a contestant cannot appear in the succeeding rounds at the appointed time, the Jury can permit him/her to perform at another time.
Competitors will be scored by the Jury throughout the competition, but the scores are strictly confidential.
INFORMATION ON THE RESULTS OF EACH ROUND:
The result of the preliminary jury's decision, i.e. the list of the contestants who have qualified for the live rounds, is available by clicking here.
The organisers will announce the list of those who will go through to the next round in alphabetical order, and will email the contestants. The list will also be published on the competition's website and social media pages.
There is no right of appeal against the Jury's decision.
