Jury names the finalists of the Marton Competition

Six female and six male singer will take the stage with a colourful programme at the Final in the Grand Hall of Liszt Academy on Saturday evening.

Live rounds of the 7th Éva Marton International Singing Competition
The live rounds will start on 31 August.
All rounds can be followed online through live stream.
- Preliminaries: 31 August – 2 September
- Semi-finals: 3 September
- Final: 5 September
- Gala: 6 September
The venues are the Liszt Academy of Music Budapest and the Hungarian State Opera. Preliminaries and semi-finals are free to attend.

Liszt Academy’s event began on Sunday evening with the opening statement of Éva Marton, followed by the drawing of the order in which the 56 contestant will perform in the preliminaries.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the biennial competition, and to commemorate this occasion, we spoke with world renowned opera singer, Professor Emerita Éva Marton – whose name the competition bears - about the significance of the event, which will be held for the sixth time from September 1 to 8.
